Former Blackhawk Jacob Bockenstedt signs with Chicago White Sox

Former Southeastern pitcher Jacob Bockenstedt has signed a free agent deal with the Chicago White Sox. 

During his time at SCC, Bockenstedt appeared in 16 games, starting 13 of them. In his 16 games, Bockenstedt was credited for 6 wins and 4 losses while recording 62 strikeouts. Per 9 innings, Bockenstedt recorded an average of 7.01 strikeouts for his 2 years at SCC.

Following Southeastern, Bockenstedt attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). While at SIUE, Bockenstedt became a Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection his senior year and recorded 13 wins in 52 appearances. Bockenstedt's 13 DI wins ties him for third in school history at SIUE.

Jacob Bockenstedt is the 24th Blackhawk in program's history to play within an MLB organization.
