INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES AT REGION 11 INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS, SENDS 2 EVENTS TO NATIONALS

WEST BURLINGTON - The conclusion of the Region 11 indoor track and field season always brings with it a mix of emotions. For the athletes and coaches of Southeastern Community College, the end of this season is marked by a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for what the future holds. At the ICCAC Region 11 championships held last weekend, both the women's and men's teams showed commendable performances. With the women's team finishing 5th and the men's team securing the 7th place in their respective standings, it was a weekend of hard-fought competition. Adding to the excitement, two school records were shattered, and the team secured five All-Region Awards. Moreover, four of Southeastern's female runners have qualified for nationals in the 4x800 and the distance medley relay, ready to represent their college on a larger stage.

The spotlight of the ICCAC Region 11 championships shone brightly on Brooks Julian and Cade Packard, as they shattered existing school records, setting new heights for Southeastern Community College’s track & field legacy. Julian, with a performance that combined a blistering pace with unyielding stamina, redefined excellence in the mile. His name now stands atop the school's record books, a testament to his dedication and hard work. In a similar vein of spectacular achievement, Packard took to the 400 with a blend of speed and endurance, breaking the previous record.

Earning an All-Region Award is a testament to the exceptional skill, rigorous training, and indomitable will of an athlete. For the Southeastern Community College track & field team, the acquisition of six such accolades at the ICCAC Region 11 championships is something to be proud of for our athletes. Camille Schroeder, Arianna Pedrin, Gabi Moehlman, Ella Schroeder, Madelyn Buck, and Aisha Ramone all earned All-Region honors last weekend.

On top of their performance on the track, Southeastern's track & field team excelled in the classroom, recording a team GPA of 3.33 and earning 19 All-Academic Awards. An outstanding achievment, success in the classroom is a pivotal part to a student-athlete's success.

For some, the season is not over just yet. Southeastern will be represented at Nationals in the Women's Distance Medley Relay and the 4x800, which will be held on March 1st and 2nd in Gainesville, FL. More information on live updates will be released closer to the date.
