Cole Higgins was named Assistant Athletic Director in June 2023.
Higgins comes to SCC after having served as graduate assistant at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. In that role he managed home events, coordinated athletic communications, aided in the hiring of coaches, and helped with marketing and fundraising for the department.
Prior to SWCC, Cole spent time at the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference where he assisted with social media and overall sports information for the league. As well, he worked with closely with the Commissioner and Co-Commissioner coordinating championships and conference events.
Higgins got his start in athletics at SWCC serving as a student-assistant coach for the Men's Basketball program. In that role, he tracked statistics, ran select drills, coordinated film, and helped in recruiting.
Cole holds an AA degree from SWCC, a Bachelor's Degree from Iowa State, and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in sports management from Northwest Missouri State. He is a native of Creston, IA and resides in Burlington.
