November 13, 2017

West Burlington, Iowa-The Southeastern Community College Baseball team signs another pitcher for the 2018-2019 season.  Ethan Francis is a right handed pitcher from Miscouche, Prince Edward Island in Canada. Ethan is apart of the Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy out of Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. He joins current Blackhawks and former Dawgs Will Underschute and Brett Platts. Ethan is a two time Tournament 12 participant, the premier baseball tournament in Canada.  Ethan pitched to a .78 ERA for the Dawgs last summer.  Assistant SCC Baseball Coach John McVey had this to say about Ethan. "Ethan has been on the radar for two years, having seen him pitch two years in a row at Tournament 12 and also seeing him a couple times last summer. He has the ability to fill a variety of roles for the Blackhawks, competing for a top four spot or closing out the game in the back end of the bullpen. Ethan throws three pitches for strikes but more importantly him level of competitiveness is off the charts. We are excited to watch him mature and grow in our program."
