Winning Matters

Winning Matters

West Burlington,Iowa-

On March 21st, nine SCC Blackhawk baseball players announced their commitment to their for year school. The crop of players did not choose the "biggest" schools that recruited them or would be recruiting them, but there was a common theme among the schools that were chosen. That theme is winning. The combined winning percentage of all the teams that players committed to is currently right at .700. For perspective, that would be good enough for second in the ICCAC at the time or writing, and is almost exactly the winning percentage that the current sophomore class has accumulated through the 78 games of their SCC career so far. Below is a list of players that committed and the schools they are committed too.

Hayden Cooper- Southern Illinois - Edwardsville – SIUE is 10-8 and off to its best start through 18 games since joining NCAA D1. Hayden will join former Blackhawk Jake Bockenstedt.

Reece Wissinger and Andrew Long - Southeastern University – Southeastern is currently ranked #1 in the nation in the NAIA with a record of 29-1. They have been in the NAIA world series three years straight and won their first in 2018.
