Blackhawks Win at the Fun City Turf Complex

West Burlington, IA-

Just like the Lady Blackhawks, the Men's team emerged victorious from their inaugural conference match inside the Fun City Turf Complex.  The Blackhawks set the tone early scoring just five minutes into the game.  Pablo Sanchez will forever be remembered as the first Blackhawk to score a conference goal at the complex.  The inaugural assist is credited to Soane Deminguet Folituu, the ICCAC's current player of the week.

Soane wasn't finished making an impact in the historic contest.  Just one minute after the Blackhawks relinquished the lead to NIACC, Soane scored an unassisted goal to the put the Blackhawks ahead once again.  In his three conference matches, Soane Deminguet Folituu, has recorded 6 goals and 3 assists.  With such lofty statistics, it is no wonder the ICCAC determined that Soane should be recognized as the ICCAC Male Soccer Player of the Week.

The Blackhawks relinquished the lead once more (2-2) before scoring two straight goals to pull away for good.  This time, Marco Cartaxo and Kane Howarth, showcased their scoring prowess to make things more comfortable for the Blackhawks.

The win moved the Blackhawks into fourth place in the conference (2-1), directly behind Indian Hills, which just adds to the drama going into the Blackhawks next conference match against the Warriors on Thursday (10/4).  Both teams are certain to feel as if they have unfinished business after an epic pre-season battle, which saw two overtime periods, resulted in an unsatisfying draw for both participants.
