Allen Grooms is in his 6th season as a volunteer Assistant Coach for the SCC Sports Shooting Team.  Allen is also the Head Coach of the Danville High School Trap Team.  Allen has personally participated in sports shooting for over 40 years.  Allen is excited to see how much the athletes (and the team) have improved in just a few short years.  Although the Shooting Sports is fairly new to SCC, several milestones have already been achieved.  In the 2016/17 season our athletes won a number of individual awards.  At the 2016/17 IA State Championship we finished 3^rd as a Team.  In the Ladies category we had athletes take 3^rd and 5^th as well as 2^nd place Ladies overall (for the year).  Thus far in the 2017 season we have received five Team awards, 4 awards in the Ladies category and 2 awards in the Men’s category. 

Allen is originally from Ottumwa, IA and graduated from IHCC in 1983 with an AAS in Computer Maintenance.  Upon graduation, he relocated Wisconsin.  Allen continued his education while working and in 1993 completed his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI.

Allen resides in Danville with his wife Becky and two sons Ben and Kyle (both SCC graduates).  Allen is employed as the IT Director with CNH Industrial in Burlington, IA.
