Southeastern Community College Athletics is excited to welcome Jorge Sierra as the next Head Coach of the Men’s and Women’s Soccer program as announced by Director of Athletics Peyton Deterding. Coach Sierra returns to SCC after having served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Iowa Wesleyan the past three seasons.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Jorge back to Southeastern. He played an integral role in building our programs into what they are today after serving as an assistant previously. His knowledge and understanding of winning soccer and his familiarity with SCC and our league will undoubtedly prove very valuable,” stated Deterding.

Sierra served as an assistant at SCC for three seasons, during which he assisted in laying the foundation that led to a National Championship on the men’s side in 2021 and three straight NJCAA postseason appearances.

“I am very happy to have the opportunity to be the next Head Soccer Coach at Southeastern Community College. I want to thank Dr. Ash, Peyton Deterding, and members of the hiring committee for trusting me to lead both the Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs. Southeastern holds a special place in my heart as they gave me the opportunity to start my coaching career back in 2018. I’m excited to come back and build upon the previous successes and look forward to meeting the student-athletes and working with them,” said Sierra.

Prior to SCC, Sierra coached at Southeast Elite Soccer Academy in Burlington and was a student assistant at Iowa Wesleyan during Spring 2018. Prior to Iowa Wesleyan, he was the Head Coach for Football Club Vacacional in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. Jorge played at Iowa Wesleyan where he was a captain of the men’s soccer team. He also played collegiately at Ave Maria University and Indian Hills Community College. He owns a U.S. Soccer National D Coaching License.
