SOUTHEASTERN BASEBALL RALLIES BACK, DEFEATS MARSHALLTOWN 10-7

WEST BURLINGTON - The Blackhawks rallied late afternoon Wednesday with Marshalltown to claim their first conference win of the season.

The Blackhawks found themselves in an early deficit after allowing a string of runs in the second, third, and fourth innings. While not earning any extra base hits, the Tigers still managed to get 7 runs through four innings. This lead would last until the Blackhawks came out swinging in the sixth inning, earning 5 runs and claiming the lead, which would eventually be the final, 10-7. 

The Blackhawks' hitting performance was highlighted by Cole Smith and Carter Gallagher, who each had two RBIs. Carter Gallagher and Sam Skarich both recorded extra base hits in the game. Colin Schmitke, Kooper Schulte, and Carter Gallagher would all score multiple runs for the Blackhawks. 

The Blackhawks currently sit at 17-5, and play host to Northeast for three games this weekend. Northeast is currently 15-10 and 2-0 in conference play with two wins over Iowa Lakes.
