Track and Field Competed at UW-Platteville

The Blackhawks track & field team competed at the UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday, February 12th. For the women, freshman Allie Simpson competed in both the 400m and 800m. She finished 5th overall in the 400m with a time of 1:06. She then snagged a 3rd place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:34. Fellow freshman Lauren King finished 14th in the 800m (3:05) and 16th in the mile (6:43). Thalia Thomas also ran in the 800m and mile, finishing in 12th and 10th.

On the men's side, the 4x200m relay team of; Michael Mosena, Daron Jackson, Carl Joseph and Lucas Woodside. Had the top finish on the track finishing 2nd  with a time of 1:37. Daron Jackson also competed in the 400m, 200m and Long Jump. He finished 9th in the 400m (53.26), 26th in the 200m (24.85) and 8th in the long jump (6.17). Michael Mosena ran the 200m and 400m also finishing in 20th and 16th. Carl Joseph ran in the 60m, 200m, and 400m. He finished 38th in the 60m, 36th in the 200m. Lucas Woodside competed in the 60mh, 200, and 400. He advanced to the finals in the 60mh finishing 7th with a time of 9.55. He finished 21st in the 200m (24.38) and 20th in the 400m (57.18). Gerson Civil ran in both the 60m and 200m. Gerson finished 37th in the 60m and 37th in the 200m.

The Blackhawks are back in action this weekend at the Region XI Championship held at Buena Vista University, in Storm Lake Iowa.
