Local Female and Male Sport Shooting Standouts Earn SCC Sport Shooting Academic Scholarship
West Burlington, IA-The Danville Bears High School Sport Shooting team hosted the 1st Annual SE Iowa SCTP Shoot this past Saturday, May 19th, 2018 located at the brand new AIM High Gun Club in Salem, IA. The event featured over 270 high school students represented by 11 Southeast Iowa High Schools. SCC Sport Shooting Coach Tim Weaver partnered with Danville High School Sport Shooting Team to award the top female and male high school senior shooter a $500 SCC Sport Shooting Scholarship with the understanding they would commit to the SCC Sport Shooting team this fall 2018. Seniors from Mt. Pleasant High School Sport Shooting Team, Kinsey Bruggemeyer and Collin Mills were the highest scoring seniors for the day and were awarded the $500 scholarship. Coach Weaver was excited to see such a great turnout for the event. "It was a great event for all the area high school to participate at the new facility. It allowed us college coaches to see great young talent that we hope will continue their education and sport shooting interest at SCC."
