SCC and Great River Health team up to provide sports enhancement training to all the student-athletes at SCC.The emphasis of the Sports Enhancement Program is on total physical development to improve performance and reduce the likelihood of injury. A variety of weight-training styles consistently challenges athletes to perform better as well as understand how the body adapts to training. Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center 26,000 square feet facility includes a three-surface area (wood floor, turf and composite flooring) to focus on strength training, cardiovascular and rehabilitation exercises. Our Hawkeye Room is furnished with Hammer Strength equipment providing the student-athletes with top rated equipment to achieve their goals. Each SCC athletic team is led by a Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center fitness specialist who has designed a sports specific training program that focuses on increasing strength, power, speed, agility, conditioning and flexibility. Our staff takes pride with our hands-on approach that involves coaching and teaching each athlete the correct form and mechanics to decrease the risk of injury. We believe in functional movements that will not only focus on the individual position but also the sport. |
