Mens Track Travel to Waldorf

The Blackhawk Men's Track and Field team competed over the weekend on Saturday, February 6th in Humboldt Iowa. 

Daron Jackson started the men off with a 2nd place finish in the Mens Triple Jump and a 6th place finish in the Mens Long Jump. Daron currently finds himself ranked top 10 in the conference in both events. 

Gavin Brown ran his first 60 meter hurdles of the year placing in the top 15 respectively, shortly after Michael Mosena and Bryce Payne battled it out in the 60 meter dash both placing 4th in their heats. 

Owen Timmerman, Kile Dowd Thadd Brooks competed in the Men's distance events for the Blackhawks, Timmerman raced the 400 and the 1,000 for the blackhawk men while Thadd Brooks ran the Mile and the 1,000 and Kile Dowd finished it off with PR's in both the Mile and the 3,000 meter run. 

The Men have four athletes ranked top 50  nationally, Daron Jackson is nationally ranked in the Long Jump, Triple Jump. Owen Timmerman finds himself in the rankings for the 600 and 1,000 meter run. Gavin Brown is top 50 in the 60 meter hurdles and Logan Davidson is ranked in both the weight throw and shot put.

"I thought everyone ran great today, we packed in a decent amount of events and everyone came back from their first event really strong. I am looking forward to one weekend of competition to polish a few things and then it's championship season ." Said Keifer

Next, the Blackhawk men will compete at the Waldorf Invitational at the Humboldt Recreation Center in Humboldt. Saturday, Feb. 13.
