Higgins Named Assistant Athletic Director

SCC Athletics has announced the hiring of the Cole Higgins as Assistant Athletic Director. Higgins comes to Southeastern most recently from Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa where he was a graduate assistant in athletic administration.

"We couldn't be more excited about the addition of Cole to our staff," said Director of Athletics Peyton Deterding. "This is a brand new position and when reviewing candidates, his knowledge of the ICCAC, community college operations, and the state of Iowa really stood out. We look forward to wealth of experience Cole brings and undoubtedly the positive impact he will have on our student-athletes and our program as a whole."

A native of Creston, Iowa, Higgins worked for Southwestern handling event management, athletic communications, fundraising, and marketing. Prior to SWCC, he spent time at the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) aiding in social media and coordinating overall sports information. Prior the ICCAC, Cole spent time as a student-assistant coach for the Men's Basketball program at SWCC where he oversaw statistics, film, and recruiting.

"I have a deep knowledge of the ICCAC and the opportunity to stay in the conference was something that definitely interested me. I am excited to work alongside great people and to providing a great experience for our student athletes!"
