2023 SPORTS SHOOTING REGION 11 AWARDS

WEST BURLINGTON - The Region 11 awards for sports shooting were announced earlier this week. Southeastern's Jenna Smith has been named Female Shooter of the Year by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) for her performance during the 2023 season. Jenna achieved First Team All-Region in all four categories for sports shooting. In the Region 11 Championships, she claimed first place in skeet shooting with a score of 94. Her best performance of the season came in trap shooting, where she earned a 98/100.

Along with Jenna, several other Blackhawks were named to All-Region teams on the women's side. Lysha Bunnell and Anna Schroeder were named Second Team All-Region by the ICCAC in the High Overall and Skeet category, while Erin Gavin and Kenzey Timmerman were named Honorable Mention. In Trap Shooting, Anna Schroeder was named Second Team All-Region. In Sporting Clays Erin Gavin and Anna Schroeder were Second Team, while Kenzey Timmerman and Lysha Bunnell were named Honorable Mention.

On the men's side, Abram Lorence and Brett Azinger were the lone Blackhawks on the All-Region awards list. Abram Lorence was named First Team All-Region in High Overall, Second Team All-Region Trap & Skeet, and Honorable Mention Sporting Clays. Brett Azinger joined Abram Lorence as Second Team Trap Shooting.
