WEST BURLINGTON - Mason Shelledy of the SCC Blackhawks' Men's Golf Team finished first individually at the Oskaloosa Shootout hosted by William Penn University Friday, September 27, 2024. Mason recorded a score of 76 for the Blackhawks through one round, tying for first with two other individuals. Amongst the Blackhawks' competition Friday was the William Penn reserves and Park University of Missouri, both of which reside in the NAIA. Shelledy, a sophomore for the Blackhawks, is one of two returning golfers on the men's and women's golf program from a year ago. The Blackhawks, coached by first year SCC head coach Dan Kies have already shown much improvement this fall through three competitions. Among the Blackhawks, 7 of 10 golfers are freshmen this season; additionally, 8 are newcomers to the SCC squad. The Blackhawks' final competition this fall is this coming Wednesday, October 2nd at Simpson College in Indianola, IA.
