Lydia Zaruba – Southeastern – Freshman – Center Field
Southeastern's Lydia Zaruba is Athlete of the Week for the second time in a row after having another great week. Over four games Zaruba had a .692 batting average with two doubles, two RBI, five runs scored and five stolen bases. A cherry on top, she also had zero strikeouts over the four game stretch. Zaruba was consistent over the four games with a run in all four wins -- with two runs scored against National Park (Ark.) in a 6-1 win. Through 19 games Zaruba leads the Blackhawks in batting average with at. 548 and leads the team in runs scored with 25.
Navy Clark – Southeastern – Sophomore – LHP
A sophomore from Bettendorf, Southeastern's Navy Clark allowed only one run in 11 innings in the circle last week. Pitching in two of the team's four games this past week, Clark allowed six hits and five walks but also had 14 strikeouts to help her team go 4-0 in that stretch. So far this season Clark has the second-most innings pitched on the team and has an ERA of 1.95, collecting 36 strikeouts with only 11 runs allowed in 28.2 innings. With 19 games played since the start of February, the Blackhawks will now take time to rest until March 22 when they are back in action against Southwestern for their conference opener.
