(West Burlington, IA)-The SCC Men and Women's Cross Country season came to a close on Saturday in Albuquerque, NM at the NJCAA DI National Cross Country Championship. Dalton Ellingboe competed for the second year in a row for the men and Lexi Brown competed for the women.The men ran first with an 8K at 11:00 am in a field of 343 runners. Dalton ran a strong race and finished 129th in a time of 27:25. This was an improvement of over 2 minutes from last year where he was 143rd (out of 284). Dalton finished his running career at SCC as the record holder in the 8K with a time of 26:42 at this year's regional meet.The women finished the day with a 5K at 12:00 pm in a field of 290. Lexi ran an outstanding race and finished 31st in a time of 19:32. Lexi's finish earned her NJCAA All-American honors becoming the Blackhawks first ever cross country All-American. Lexi finished a great freshman season as the SCC record holder in the 5K with a time of 18:51 at this year's regional meet.
