BLACKHAWKS OUTLAST HIGHLAND IN BACK-AND-FORTH MATCH

WEST BURLINGTON - Southeastern Men's Basketball improved to 8-4 Saturday night with a win over Highland, 60-47. 

Each team came out swinging in the first half, trading 3's early on. Over the course of the first half, the teams started to increase the defensive intensity, making offense difficult for both sides. Unforced turnovers and tough shots were a mainstay in the first half, as each team struggled to meet the 20-point mark until 5 minutes remaining. The Blackhawks led the game 20-19 with 5 minutes remaining, until Highland put together a strong run to end the half. At the break, Highland led 29-24.

Southeastern quickly closed the gap on Highland, as they brought the score within 1 with 18 minutes remaining. Following the Blackhawks' run, each team traded several nice offensive possessions down the stretch of the game. The intensity increased all throughout the second half, as both teams traded leads. In the end, it was the Blackhawks who had a series of free throws and run outs who pulled the lead to 13 points at the final horn.

The Blackhawks surpassed Highland, 60-47.
