SCC MEN DEFEAT IOWA CENTRAL 2-0, ADVANCE TO REGION 11 SEMIFINAL

WEST BURLINGTON - Southeastern men's soccer advances in the region 11 tournament after a thrilling 2-0 victory over the Iowa Central Tritons Sunday afternoon.

The Blackhawks were well-rounded in Sunday's match, possessing the ball for the majority of the game. The Blackhawks were in a stalemate for much of the start until the Blackhawks were granted a free kick late in the first half. Jordi Masegosa to the kick for the Blackhawks and found the back of the net off of a friendly bounce, just narrowly passing the keeper.

SCC led 1-0 for a large portion of the game until Yoshichika Kainuma led a counter-attack late in the second half for the Blackhawks, in which he passed several defenders and combined with Parker Davis on a 1-2 combination to put the Blackhawks up 2-0 and solidify the win.

The Blackhawks advance to the semifinal round against Iowa Lakes in Estherville, IA on Wednesday, October 25th.
