Southeastern falls to Indian Hills in tough battle.

WEST BURLINGTON - Southeastern lost a tough battle Tuesday night to a stout Indian Hills team, 3-0. 

Southeastern started out slow, finding themselves down 19-9 in the first set. Southeastern attempted to claw back, thanks to several nice serves from Lamecia Schaerrer and several nice plays up front from Brianna Hernandez and Mckenna Marlow, before falling 25-14. 

Set 2 was a different story; each team delivered nice attacks leading to several lead changes throughout the set. Indian Hills took an 18-13 lead before Southeastern scored 6 straight points, taking a 19-18 lead. Southeastern lead 24-22 for set point thanks to a great push on an attack by Mckenna Marlow, finding the back corner of Indian Hills' side. However, Hills led an impressive service attack and claimed the set, 26-24.

Set 3 had a competitive start, where each team was knotted 12-12 before Indian Hills went on an attack. The final score of set 3 was 25-18, leading to a sweep for Indian Hills and the 7th loss of the season for the Blackhawks.

Southeastern will bounce back against DMACC tonight, Wednesday, September 6th in ICCAC conference action.
