West Burlington, IA- The Southeastern Community College basketball team played a slow start to the game Tuesday night in Loren Walker Arena against Des Moines Area Community College. The Blackhawks started the game out slow, but were able to pull out a win beating the Bears 87-71. Sophomore Patrick Jackson was nominated and selected for ICCAC Player of the Week. Southeastern went a perfect 3-0 last week, with great performances by sophomore guard Patrick Jackson. The first game against Black Hawk resulted in a 101-94 victory, where Jackson shot 8 of 12 from the floor. He scored 20 points in the game, and had three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. He had another efficient game against NIACC, shooting 5 of 6 from three and 7 of 9 for the game. He scored 20 points in this game as well, to go with four rebounds and five assists. The final game of the week was a 12-point win over Iowa Lakes. Jackson was 5-7 from three and 7-14 from the floor. This game he tallied 25 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals. The Blackhawks host NJCAA Division II seventh-ranked Tritan College this Thursday, December 7th with tip off at 7 pm. SCC improves their record to 10-2.
