WOMEN'S SOCCER BREAKS WIN MARGIN ALL-TIME RECORD

WEST BURLINGTON - Southeastern women's soccer defeated Marshalltown by a score of 11-0 Wednesday afternoon, earning the largest win margin in program history.

This record was previously 10-0, occuring once in 2018 and once on September 6th to Scott Community College.

SCC led the scoring early, when Jace Herman scored in the seventh minute as well as the 18th minute giving the Blackhawks a stable lead. Jace Herman finished the match with 5 shots on goal and 3 that connected with the back of the net. Teammates Jada Platt and Karlee Ballast would also score in the first half. At the half, the Blackhawks led Marshalltown 4-0.

In the second half the Blackhawks continued to pour in the goals. Sharon Barrantes, Karlee Ballast, Jace Herman, Alexa Martinez, and Jaylen Turner would all score. The Blackhawks sat comfortable at 10-0, but pushed for the record when Alexa Martinez found herself in position to take a 1-on-1 shot with the goalkeeper. The ball ricocheted off of the keeper and found the net, putting the Blackhawks up 11-0 and scoring the record-breaking goal. 

The Blackhawks are now 2-4 (1-1 CONF) and will play against Western Iowa Tech 2-7 (1-1 CONF) Saturday at 1:00PM.
