WEST BURLINGTON - Southeastern baseball's Maddux Frese announced last Friday that he is committing to the University of Iowa to continue his career.
Frese, a sophomore from Norway, IA posted a 7-1 record in his freshman season, allowing just 2.44 earned runs per game in 11 appearances. In all, Frese pitched in 59.0 innings for the Blackhawks in his freshman campaign. In addition to his impressive ERA, Frese recorded 36 strikeouts and just 11 walks.
Frese and the Blackhawks are coming off their second straight trip to the NJCAA DII baseball world series in Enid, Oklahoma. Frese is amongst 3 other freshman returners who earned ICCAC honors in their first year.
