BLACKHAWKS SWEEP SPARTANS IN FINAL HOME GAME OF THE YEAR

WEST BURLINGTON - Southeastern Community College capped off their season with a 3-0 victory over Southwestern Wednesday night in Loren Walker Arena. 

The Blackhawks honored 5 sophomores for their committment to the Blackhawks prior to the matchup.

The Spartans came out strong taking a 3-0 lead in the first set over the Blackhawks courtesy of several service aces. Not long after, the Blackhawks went on a run of their own taking the lead for the remainder of the set. The Blackhawks' 25-13 victory in the first set is in part to several nice attacks on the front line. 

The remainder of the game was all Blackhawks, winning the second and third sets 25-12 and 25-13 respectively. Blackhawk sophomores Lillian Simpson, Penelope Johnson, and Brianna Hernandez all had big nights offensively for SCC, as well as recorded several blocks throughout the night. 

Following Wednesday's bout, the Blackhawks obtain the #7 seed in the Region 11 tournament. The Blackhawks will travel to #2 Kirkwood next Wednesday, November 1st to take on the Eagles in the first round.
