West Burlington, IA-The Southeastern Community College Blackhawks swept Iowa Lakes in 3 sets Wednesday night for their first home conference match (25-15, 25-22, 25-16). The Blackhawks are 2-1 in conference, ranking 5^th for Region XI with an overall record of 8-7. Freshman outside hitter and captain Kennedy Good led with 10 kills, 6 digs, and 1 ace while freshman outside hitter Rachel Bingham added 9 kills and 5 digs. Additionally freshman middle hitter Jassmine Bass recorded 6 kills while sophomore rightside hitter Rachel Malinowski added 4 kills, 12 digs, and 1 ace. Freshman setter Jenna Saad led with 27 assists while freshman libero Melodee Schulte led on defense with 16 digs and 4 assists. The Blackhawks next game is this Saturday September 21^st for the Jimmy John's Invite #2 at Loren Walker Arena. The tournament starts at 10am and the Blackhawks play at 12pm vs Highland Community College (IL) and 2pm vs Lake Land College (IL).
