Blackhawks Drop 3 Sets to Illinois Central College

 

West Burlington, IA - The Blackhawks dropped 3 sets to no. 9 Illinois Central College Thursday night (15-25, 23-25, 20-25). Outside hitter Rachel Bingham had 11 kills, 13 digs, and passed a 2.41 in serve receive. Right behind Bingham was freshman outside hitter Kennedy Good with 7 kills and 15 digs. Sophomore right-side hitter Rachel Malinowski added 5 kills, 12 digs, and 3 blocks. On defense, freshman libero Melodee Schulte, produced 21 digs. "We are lucky to play in challenging matches like this, but we keep allowing ourselves to make consecutive errors that we aren't able to recover from," commented Head Coach Michelle Glass. She added, "a challenging match like this is what we need in order to grow."

The Blackhawks are currently 2-2 for conference in a 4 way tie for 3rd and 10-9 overall. Their next home game is this Sunday September 29th at Loren Walker Arena for the Jimmy John's Invite #3 Tournament. The Blackhawks will play at 12pm against Oakton Community College (IL) and 2pm against Graceland University Varsity Reserve (IA).
